Wastewater Management System (Morocco, Africa)

Design and construction of the Moroccan seaport's wastewater treatment plant had begun. As one of the preliminary stages, the water authority needed to install sewer lines to the system. To prepare the community's major businesses for future wastewater pretreatment regulations, TRTG began an outreach program for the water authority with local trade organizations.

In the initial meetings, we established several primary candidates for plant visits from the two largest water-using groups: tourist hotels and fish processors. At the plants TRTG identified major water processes and developed procedures to quantify water use through meters and equipment nameplate data. We also developed informative questionnaires for the water authority to use during their audits. Lastly, we added potential in-plant water recycling and equipment replacement options to illustrate available cost-saving opportunities.
