Semiconductor Plant Expansion (North Shore, MA)
On the North Shores of Massachusetts, a major semiconductor manufacturer
planned to expand production in a water-short community. In coordination
with the plant's environmental health and safety consultant, TRTG worked
to obtain community agreement for additional water and a new Massachusetts
Water Resources Authority wastewater permit for new discharge.
|
First, we met with the local public works department to establish the
company's plans and schedule. At the plant we reviewed existing water
use and wastewater generation by building, function and equipment. We
then examined the new plant layouts and equipment installations, existing
hazardous material, and waste and wastewater data to collect the data
needed for the permit. For increased efficiency TRTG developed a wastewater
data collection system and streamlined permit application process. To
complete the task, we built a foundation for future conservation technologies
and met with the MWRA to assist application approval. |
